Carolyn Walker

CLUTIER-Carolyn Louise Walker, 78, of Clutier, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Bebee Healthcare in Lewes, DE. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 407 Main Street in Dysart with Pastor Daniel Hartwig officiating. Interment will follow at Clutier Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church.

Carolyn was born on December 7, 1945, in Mahaska County, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Jessie (VanArkle) Burggraaf.

She graduated from North Mahaska High School in 1963 and then received her CNA certificate.

On June 2, 1963, she married James A. Walker in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She did home healthcare as a CNA for five years and also worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Burlington for many years. Carolyn mainly took care of her home and family. Her hobbies included reading, shopping and gardening. In her younger days, she enjoyed taking care of the animals on the farm.

Survivors include her son, David J. (Tammy) Walker of Theodore, AL; daughter, Debra L. (Robert) Clobes of Georgetown, DE; four grandchildren, Anna Walker, and Colt, Olivia and Natalie Clobes; sisters-in-law, Esther Walker of Ames, Shannon Walker of Manhattan, KS, and Diane Walker of Westfield, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James in 2018; and brother-in-law, John Walker.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
