Sandra Kay Fowler, 82

Sandra Kay Fowler, 82, of Toledo, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation was held Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Sandra was born on January 12, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Gilvan and Virginia (Dostal) Wiese.

She graduated from Tama High School, after attending schools in Montour.

On September 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ronald Fowler at the Methodist Church in Tama. Sandy was employed at the Tama Bank until becoming the Tama County Treasurer from 1992-2012. She was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama. She was also an active member in Kiwanis Club of Toledo-Tama, where she was Past President. Sandy loved farming, especially attending to the cows.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Ron, of Toledo; three sons: Mark (Jeanne) Fowler, of Earlham, Rod (Laurie) Fowler, of Denton, NE and Gary Fowler, of Marshalltown; four granddaughters: Alexandra (Jordan) Bohr, Natalie (Dylan) Neal, Jessica Fowler and Mallory Fowler; two step-granddaughters, Sarah (Trey) Cummings and Rachel Gilmore; and four step-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Rose Ann Wiese, of Toledo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her grandson, Thomas Fowler; her brother, Roger Wiese; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Fowler.
