Marion Marvin Kubalek, 85

Marion Marvin Kubalek, 85, of Ackley and formerly of Tama, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at Grand JiVante in Ackley surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama with Valerie Martinez officiating. Marion was born on July 17, 1938, in Vining, Iowa, the son of Joseph George and Gladys Grace (Wisner) Kubalek.

He graduated from Toledo High School.

Marion was formerly married to Linda Bedell and together they had three children. On August 8, 1976, he married Rosemary White in Tama. He worked at National Oats in Cedar Rapids and did construction work for many years. Marion liked fixing and tinkering with cars and fishing. He also enjoyed going to family get-togethers.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary, of Ackley; his children: Randy (Anna) Kubalek, of Des Moines, Christine (John) Rennenger, of Des Moines, Tammy McAbee, of Iowa Falls, Julie Cope, of Eldora, James (Kimberly) Kubalek, of Eldora, Robert Kubalek, of Ackley, and Valerie Martinez, of Marshalltown; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (William) Matt, of Evansdale, and Mayme (Buzz) Smith, of Marion; his brother-in-law, Gary Shook, of Tama; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were his parents; his daughter, Sarah Kubalek; two sisters, Marie Shook and Marcella Daves.
