Mildred D. Dolezal, 88
Mildred D. Dolezal, 88, of Toledo, entered into eternal life on Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2023, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama with her family by her side. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 18th at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A public Vigil Service was held at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 19th at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown has been entrusted with her arrangements.
Mildred “Millie” Darlene Hand was born November 18, 1934, in Poweshiek County. She was the daughter of Floyd L. (Bud) and Elsie (Rohach) Hand. Millie graduated from Tama High School. On November 20, 1952, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama, she was united in Marriage to Edward (Ed) L. Dolezal, of Toledo. The couple made their home in rural Toledo where they lived and farmed all of their lives until retirement. In addition to farming, Ed and Millie operated Dolezal Farm Supply on their farm northeast of Toledo until their retirement in 1986. Millie was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Teresa Circle and C.C.W., Catholic Workman, Catholic Forresters and the “BG’s.” Millie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved to cook. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Millie was loved by everyone that knew her for her outgoing, spunky personality.
Surviving is her six children: Steven, of Toledo, Kathy (Bob) Hendricks, of Toledo, Douglas (Debbie) Dolezal, of Toledo, Jonie (Lloyd) Bohnstengel, of Colleyville, TX, David (Dawn) Dolezal, of Toledo, and Christine (Larry) Horbach, of Toledo; one brother, LaVern (Helen) Hand, of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Ed; her parents, Floyd and Elsie Hand; her 3 brothers, Floyd W. Hand, John Hand and Frank Hand.
