Raymond Clifford Ryan, 99

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Chelsea United Methodist Church, Chelsea, IA with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rector Cemetery, Chelsea.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.

Raymond was born June 15, 1923, on the family farm in Chelsea, IA, the son of Clifford and Adra (Metz) Ryan. He attended Tama High school, following school he went to work along side his father on the family farm.

June 16, 1962, Raymond married Evelyn L. Kalinay. Together they raised their family on the family farm. Along with farming, Raymond also worked for the ASCS office in Toledo. Upon retiring from farming, Raymond worked at McKee Coin, Ottumwa, IA, along with other miscellaneous jobs.

Raymond enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and studying postal history. He always looked forward to his Canada fishing trips, and loved to sing and do puzzles.

He was an active member of Chelsea United Methodist Church, Chelsea, Masons and Shriners.

Raymond was survived by his children: Susan (Randy) Smith,, of Chelsea, Pat (Taddi) Ryan, of Toledo, Kevin (Susie) Ryan, of Chelsea, Matt (Christina) Ryan, of Ankeny; son-in-law, Don (Nancy Dvorak) Weiermann, of Chelsea; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Ryan; daughter, Laurie Weiermann; and sister, Eloise (John) Krumm.
