Barry Prusha
Barry Lee Prusha, 69, of Tama, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo with Pastor Jill Mack officiating. The family wishes to invite friends to the Tama American Legion for food and fellowship following the Graveside Service.
Barry was born on November 28, 1952, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Carolyn (Sturtz) Prusha. He lived his life in the Tama area.
He graduated from South Tama High School and attended some college.
As a young man, Barry through his love of horses excelled in barrel and pole racing. He had a love of all animals and nature. He planned and developed a tree farm.
Barry worked for the Railroad and did construction for several years. Barry was a successful businessman owning a tree service for many years and then a property owner doing all of the renovations on his many rental properties.
Those left to grieve his loss are his sisters: Lana (Denny) Wobeter, of Toledo, Lea (Mike) Husak, of Marshalltown, and Lori (Bob) Thelen, of Rogers, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry; and numerous aunts, uncles and his grandparents.
