Yvonne Ione Early, 85
December 1, 1937 ? October 18, 2022
Yvonne was born in Tama, Iowa, on December 1, 1937, to Walter and Dorothy Sturtz. She had six brothers (Warren, Clifford, Dale, Royce, Robert and Carl) and four sisters (Shirley, Carolyn, Eris and Karen). Yvonne attended Tama High School where she participated in a number of activities including the Oratorical Contest sponsored by the American Legion. In her senior year, Yvonne was elected to the National Honor Society due to her good character, leadership and service to the school.
After graduating in 1956, Yvonne worked for a time as an airline stewardess before taking a job at Cargill as a training executive for their management development program. She transferred to the Denver area and it was there that she met Norman Early, a business owner, tax attorney and certified public accountant. The two were married on July 5, 1963, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Yvonne was an avid reader of books with a deep interest in human behavior. In the late 1980’s, she fulfilled a life-long dream when she earned a degree in psychology at the University of Denver.
Both Norm and Yvonne loved playing golf and they were long-time members of the Glenmoor Country Club. To further their enjoyment of the sport, they built a second home on a golf course in Arizona in 2003. After Norm’s death in 2009, Yvonne continued travelling between both homes and she often visited her beloved grandchildren Carr and Greyson in the Los Angeles area.
Yvonne is survived by her sister Karen, sons Vance and Todd, stepchildren, Paula Lawley and Byron (Marilyn) Early. She is also survived by, and was very fond of, her numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. Private entombment will be at the Olinger Crown Hill Mausoleum in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
