Marjorie “Marge” Ziskovsky

Marjorie “Marge” Jean (DeMint) Ziskovsky, 95, formerly of Toledo Iowa, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. She died peacefully at Harrison Senior Living House in Georgetown, Delaware, under the care of Delaware Hospice. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 16th at 10:30 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Iowa, with Rev. Jill Mack and Jan Ziskovsky officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on the 16th at the graveside prior to the service.
Surviving Marge are her daughter Jan (Rosemary) Ziskovsky, of Millsboro, Delaware; her brother Wayne (the late Bonnie) DeMint, of Fort Madison; Step grandchildren Emma (Ben) Ellison, of Odenton, Maryland; Hannah Rohde-Frank, of Baltimore, Maryland; 2 step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents Price and Gladys (Koontz) DeMint; her son David Ziskovsky; her husband Arlston “AJ” Ziskovsky and her sister Betty Sue (DeMint) Strunk.
Marge was born on November 19th, 1926, at her maternal grandparent’s farm in Richmond, Missouri. She graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1943. She was briefly married to Harold Shelley and they later divorced. Marge married AJ on September 7th, 1952, and the two ultimately moved to Toledo, Iowa, where they raised 2 children and were very active in the Tama/Toledo area.
Marge loved being a wife and mother and very much enjoyed extended family and family gatherings. In addition to family, she was very active in United Methodist Church in Toledo; the Order of the Eastern Star; United Methodist Women and the DAR. In each organization she held a variety of local, district and state offices. She was an avid reader, did a variety of speaking engagements, enjoyed writing and was a prolific journalist.
Making friends wherever she went, Marge volunteered in and contributed to many community organizations and activities.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
