Evelyn Hanus

Evelyn Joan Hanus, 78, of Tama, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10-11 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on August 8, 1943, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Hazel (Wiese) Chaloupek.
She graduated from Tama High School and attended a Community College in Des Moines.
On January 7, 1966, she married Roger Lee Hanus in Lincoln, NE. Evelyn was a legal secretary for many years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, crocheting, ceramics and traveling, especially to South Dakota. Evelyn also enjoyed raising her calves and goats on the farm.
Survivors include two daughters, Laurie McLevis, of Rochester, MN and Pamela Hanus, of Tama; one son, Todd (Amy) Hanus, of Eddyville; seven grandchildren: Joe (Heather) Hanus, Andrew Hanus, Alexis (Rob) Eldred, Reed McLevis, Haley Hanus (Austin McGraw), Kallen Hanus and Jordyn Hanus; eight great grandchildren: Wesley, Wyatt, Mason, Carson, Ryder, Brooklyn, Waverly and Jaxon; one brother, Robert (Darla) Chaloupek, of Texas; one sister, Beverly Chaloupek, of Montana; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Roger on January 18, 2007; son, Tim Hanus; son-in-law, Joe McLevis; brother, Larry Chaloupek in childbirth; and sister, Barb Riha.
A memorial fund will be established.
