Dennis Wilkerson

Dennis Ralph Wilkerson, 60, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Jill Mack officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Dennis was born on April 17, 1961, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Shirley (Goldsworth) Wilkerson.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1980.

Dennis was previously employed at Mid Iowa Workshop, Mid Iowa Lumber, the Toledo Chronicle office, Econo Foods and the Tremont Grille in Marshalltown. In his younger years, he was in Boy Scouts and special Olympics where he was quite a runner. He was also an avid skateboarder and enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Shirley Wilkerson of Toledo; his siblings, Terri (Terry) Goodhart of Toledo, Pamela (Steve) Hala of Toledo, Tom (Julie) Wilkerson of Toledo, and Lon (Kathy) Wilkerson of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
