Tonya Samples

Tonya Samples, a lifelong resident of Austell, Georgia, passed away on January 6, 2022.

Tonya was a devoted daughter, wife and friend. Tonya was married to her beloved husband, Michael Kvapil, for 19 years and they shared their home with their fur babies, Fonzi, Bozley, Blizzard and Zeek. Tonya loved traveling to the beach and shelling when she wasn’t spending free time by their pool.

Tonya knew early in life that she wanted a career as a stylist. By talent and determination, she established herself as a renowned stylist and co-owner of Salon Lotus. She always said, “Do something you love and you will never work a day in your life”.

Tonya is survived by her mother, Peggy Chastain, her father, Hoyt Samples, and his wife, Leasil Samples and her son. Tonya’s cousins are Terri, Wanda, Leslie, Michael, Lorna, Leona and Jerry. She was lovingly called “Yaya” by her godchildren Ella Maddox and Colton Scarborough.

She was preceded in death by her Nanny; Betty Samples, Papaw; Billy Samples and her uncle, Leon Watkins.

Visitation will be at Roy Davis Funeral Home at 5935 Mulberry Street, Austell, Georgia, Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Afterwards family and friends will gather at South Cobb Diner, located at 525 Love Street in Austell.

The family asks that you smile at memories of Tonya when you take a walk on the beach with a loved one, when making a toast to lifelong friendships and beyond, and always feel beautiful inside and out. These would be Tonya’s wishes.
