Shari Scheller

Shari Lynn (Perry) Scheller, 61, of Toledo, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Unity Point Health – Marshalltown. To honor her and her family’s wishes, cremation rites will be given and a Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 17th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Shari Lynn (Perry) Scheller was born Shari Lynn Brown on Aug 18, 1960 in Orange County, CA. At age 2, she came to Marshalltown, IA to live with her great aunt and uncle, Elda and Harold Perry. In 1963, she was adopted by the Perry family. Shari had a huge zest for life. As a child and as a young adult it was always pedal to the metal, full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes!! That’s just the way she was! She spent many summers at Holiday Lake swimming, water skiing, and riding mini bikes with her cousin, Mike Stanley. A paralyzing stroke at the age of 36 was the only thing that ever slowed her down, but it did not stop her! She was ornery, silly, defiant, and rebellious to the end! Shari will be greatly missed by all, but not forgotten!!

Shari is survived by her two wonderful children: her son, Joseph (Kellie) Scheller of Gladbrook, IA and her daughter, Erica (Jordan) Gese of Edwards AFB CA; three beautiful granddaughters: Danica Lynn Scheller, Olivia Gese, and Violet Gese; brothers: Larry (Carol) Perry, David (Vicky) Perry of Arkansas, Jerry Brown, Jesse Brown, of Iowa; sisters: Lisa Brown Murty, Faith Brown Veld of Iowa and sister, Leanna Craig, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In death, she rejoins her parents, Harold and Elda Perry and two brothers, Richard Gene Thompson and Thomas Perry.
