Kenneth Breya

Kenneth Paul Breya, 74, of Tama, IA passed away December 14, 2021 at his home.

Kenneth was born August 12, 1947 to Frank and Frances (Ledvina) Breya on the family farm in rural Vining, IA. He attended South Tama Schools. Helping on the family farm from a young age, Kenny eventually ran and operated Breya Pony Farm. Later becoming known as Circle B Ranch, where he loved raising and trading horses. Kenny worked for Benco Manufacturing in Belle Plaine, IA, retiring after 25 years. As a part-time auctioneer, specializing in farm auctions, Kenny was known to his friends and family as Colonel Kenny Breya.

When Kenny wasn’t raising horses he enjoyed dancing on the weekends, going to the casino, playing cards (Pepper) and cattle auctions.

He is survived by his siblings, Marcella Smith of Elberon and Frank (Marge) Breya of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Marilyn (Dale) Gessner, Randy Smith, Marsha Bean, Marlys Smith, Timi (Rod) Ruff and Brett Breya; many great-nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings.

Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelsea, IA at 10:00 Monday, December 20th.
