Connie Johnson

Constance (Connie) Mary Johnson died on September 14 and was cremated. A “Celebration of Life” will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Parish Center, Tama, Iowa.

She was born August 19, 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa. Connie was the third of eight children of George & Irene Vavroch. She was the mother of Angela & Charles Mason. She married James

Johnson in 1983.

Connie attended South Tama County Community High School and Marshalltown Community College. Throughout her career, Connie performed various office administration and management functions in the medical profession. She retired as administrator from the Tama Mental Health Clinic and relocated to Table Rock, Missouri with her husband Jim. Connie meticulously tended to her family, home, pets and yard. Connie would never pass up a good book, a boat ride and a day in the sun.

She is survived by her husband, James Johnson, Sunrise Beach, Missouri; her son, Charles (Sharri) Mason, Emmetsburg; her stepson, James (Kristi) Johnson Jr., Marshalltown; her step daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Cline, Marshalltown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Mason (Greg) Wesley, Ames; Zachary Mason, Ankeny; her step grandchildren, Jacelynn & Ross Johnson and Jordan, Taylor, Bryer & Keegan Cline all of Marshalltown. Her siblings include Jane (Walt) Kwant, John (Barb O’Leary) Vavroch, Mary (Michael) Hamiel, Nancy Wauters, Doreen (Norm) Hayek, Timothy Vavroch & Mark (Julie) Vavroch and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Irene Vavroch and her daughter Angela Mason.
