Larry Douglas

Larry Dean Douglas, 70, of Tama, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Larry was born on May 20, 1951, in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of LeRoy R. and Doris F. (McLarty) Douglas.

He graduated from high school and went to trade school for electrical.

On June 15, 2006, he married Agnes Howe. Larry was a maintenance director at Premier Estates of Toledo for eighteen years. His previous employment was security at the Meskwaki Bingo and Casino, electrician at the Tama Pack, farmer, and bus driver.

Larry enjoyed motorcycle riding and gardening. He liked remodeling houses, being a handyman, tinkering with things and dabbling in woodworking. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Tama; his children, Nova Gottsche of Hartington, Nebraska, Joe Douglas of State of Washington, Randi (Bill Mowry) Douglas of Albert City, Iowa, Dani (Jesse) VanHouten of Cushing, Iowa and, Sam (Joe) Gee of Akron, Iowa; step-son, Jacob (Rachel) Buchanan of Fort Dodge; step-daughter, Heather (Tony) Woosley of Cherokee; thirteen grandchildren, Brandon, Hailey, Riley, Alexis, Gavin, Collin, Nolan, Willa, Nevaeh, Caiden, Paiten, Trulee and Regan; four step-grandchildren, Robbie, Evelyn, Dalton and Mariah; one brother, Leslie (Linda) Douglas of Moville, Iowa; and two sisters, Sandra (Don) Collins of Danbury, Iowa, and Susan (Tim) Gudis of Wisconsin.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
