Lorraine Julia Musel, 95, of Chelsea, Iowa passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Keystone Care Center, Keystone, IA.

Lorraine was born November 16, 1925 to Charles and Julia (Kozik) Kalina on the family farm in Irving, IA. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Together the couple raised their daughter, Geraldine on their farm in Chelsea, which they purchased in 1950. Lorraine was a hard worker, she raised chickens, sold eggs, tended to large gardens, mowed grass and provided large, fresh meals to George and all the farm help. She also worked in the cafeteria, alongside family, at the Belle Plaine Western Exchange and sorted corn for Funk’s Seed. Lorraine remained on the farm until moving to Keystone Care Center in 2014.

Together in their younger years the couple enjoyed going to dances and getting together with friends playing cards. Lorraine loved spending time with family and was very proud of her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, helping with many fall festivals as the “gravy” lady.
