Elaine Zigler

Elaine (Kaisand) Zigler, 89, went to live with Jesus on August 30, 2021. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Elaine was born November 25, 1931 in Grinnell, the daughter of Conrad and Ruth (Garver) Kaisand. Elaine was valedictorian and President of Toledo High School’s Class of 1949.

She married Donald Zigler on December 22, 1951. Together they had two daughters, Konnie and Jo (Jody). They moved to Rathdrum, ID in 1960. Elaine loved the mountains and the clear water lakes and rivers there. After they divorced, Elaine moved back to Iowa.

Elaine worked as a bank teller, secretary and later retired from the Iowa Juvenile Home Business Office.

Elaine loved spending time with family and friends. She could usually be found at her grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. She had a heart of gold and loved Jesus. She wanted everyone to know — “I’m with Jesus now. Hallelujah!”

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Konnie Vranish, granddaughter Kayla Vranish; great-granddaughter Kyra Vranish Helmer, sister Allene Cruikshank and brother-in-law Rev. William Zigler.

Elaine is survived by daughter Jo (Ron) Bradley, grandchildren Karollyn McBride, Krystal Jeffries, Jeff Klein, Gail Ridout, Justin Vranish, Paul Bradley, great-grandchildren Dominik, Elaina and Hank Ridout; brothers Duane (Barbara) Kaisand, Dennis (Janet) Kaisand; sister-in-law Shirley Zigler and several nieces and nephews.
