Lorna Wanatee

Lorna Valee “Nakita” Wanatee, 27, of Tama, passed away, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Grandview Healthcare Center in Oelwein. A Traditional Wake will be held Sunday evening at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the McIntosh Cemetery on the Settlement with Larry Lasley Sr. as speaker.

Lorna was born on August 25, 1993, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Jeanine Davenport and Arlo Wanatee.

Lorna received her high school diploma. She enjoyed listening to oldies, getting her nails done, enjoying a spa day, and keeping up with her family.

Survivors include her parents, Jeanine Davenport and Arlo (Melinda) Wanatee; grandmothers, Lorraine Keahna and Sunni Joy; siblings, Kyrsha Balderas, Riley Davenport, Cael Becerra, LeAnan Stockdale, Kaisha Wanatee, Kylie Wanatee, and Amber Wanatee; uncles, Galan Thompson, Garrick (Laurie) Davenport, Garren (Jessica) Davenport; aunts, Shawn (Wilmer) Fox, Millicent Thompson, Charlotte (Miguel) Keahna-Nunez, Jolene Davenport, Garika (Victor) Pesina, Sahara (Al) William; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
