Diane Giesenberg

Diane Marie Giesenberg, 75, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Jill Mack officiating. Interment will be private. A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 1 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Diane was born on January19, 1946, in Berkeley, CA, the daughter of LeRoy and Ruegene (Wiese) Geist and was later adopted by Charles Linville.
Diane was a co-valedictorian at South Tama High School in 1964. She attended the University of Iowa and while there she won a competition for a paper written about her father.
On April 30, 1976, she married Leon Giesenberg in Marshalltown, Iowa. Diane formerly had an antique store and worked at IDS, an Investment Company in Minneapolis. In her younger years, she was in 4-H. She loved art, especially painting pictures. Diane and Leon enjoyed traveling and once went to Germany. They also liked to go motorcycle riding on Leon’s Harleys.
Survivors include two children, Matthew (Jeanne) Ferneau of Russellville, KY, and Rachel Ferneau of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Austin Key, Olivia (Tony) Lawson, and August Geary; two great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Cooper Lawson; her siblings, Susan Hughes (Bill Wrede) of Tama, Linda Rosenberger of Tama, Mary (Steve) Scharnweber of Pierre, SD, Amy (Tim) Prusha of Marshalltown, Beth (Doug) Manfull of Rushford, MN, Viena Vertefuille of Washington State, Joe Geist of Rio Linda, CA, Steven (Kerry) Geist of Sacramento, CA, and Wanda (James) Fernandez of Washington State; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; biological father, LeRoy Geist, and parents, Charles and Ruegene Linville; stepmother Lois Hamann Linville; brothers, Gary Linville, and Duane Linville; and brothers-in-law, Frank Hughes and Steve Rosenberger.
Memorials may be directed to Sunny Hill Care Center or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
