Terry Stubbs

Terry Stubbs, 72, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away suddenly on the evening of June 1, 2021 at Unity Point Health Marshalltown surrounded by his loving family.

A family led celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the American Legion in Marshalltown, Iowa from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. with full military honors to be rendered at 1:00 P.M. Terry Lynn Stubbs was born on April 20, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Alva and Myra “Vivian” (McAteer) Stubbs. He was one of five children blessed to the couple. Terry grew up in the Montour area and graduated from SEMCO High School in Gilman with the Class of 1967.

Following high school, Terry began a career at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1968-1971. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Terry resumed work at Fisher Controls in the customer service department until his retirement in 2011.

In 1973, Terry was united in marriage to his wife, Diane Pappas. The two had their daughter Amber who they raised together. They celebrated many years together before separating.

In his free time, Terry was active within a variety of clubs. He was a member of the American Kennel Club, president of the Iowa Sporting Spaniel Club, Patriot Riders, NRA, Moose Lodge of Marshalltown and the American Legion in Marshalltown. He enjoyed rides on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with the Good Sum Bitches Club, going fishing, hunting, hanging out with his friends, and his dogs which he researched and trained to be the best that they could be for their breed.

Left to remember and cherish his memory are his daughter Amber (Chad O’Clair); his granddaughter Breanna Matteson; his siblings, Jon (Jackie) Stubbs, Merle (Mary) Stubbs, Randy (Barbara) Stubbs, and Mark Stubbs; and his furry four-legged companions Nellie, Trio, and Flint.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alva and Vivian Stubbs
