Samuel Campbell

TAMA-Samuel Ray Campbell, 62, of Tama, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mesquakie Friends Church in rural Tama with Pastor Mac McDonald officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, September 19, 2020 at Mesquakie Friends Church in rural Tama.

Samuel was born on November 24, 1957, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of C. Keith and Alice (Barber) Campbell.

He attended South Tama Schools.

On March 1, 1987, he married Colleen Darrah in Toledo, Iowa and they had two girls. They later divorced. Sam was an over the road truck driver for years and later worked for Asplund and Twin City Construction in Tama. He was a member and very active in the Tenth Souls Motorcycle Club and had very strong ties with the Meskwaki Nation. Sam’s passion was riding and working on his motorcycles. He also loved dogs.

Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Darrah Campbell and Lisa Campbell both of Tama; three grandchildren, Kayla Darrah, Joshua Strong, and Ryder Strong; three brothers, Dave Campbell of Clarksville, Dennis Campbell of Marshalltown, and Bruce “Bubba” (Angel) Campbell of Marshalltown; two nieces and one nephew.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

A memorial fund has been established.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama is assisting the family with the arrangements.
