Ronald Zhorne

TAMA-Ronald L. Zhorne,  78, of  Tama, passed away Monday,  July 6, 2020  at Unity Point  Methodist Hospital in  Des Moines, IA.  Family has scheduled cremation  for a burial at National Cemetery and a  celebration of life which will be scheduled at a later date.

Ronald was born  October  10, 1942  in rural Gilman, Iowa, the  son  of  Leo  and  Eleanor (Reeves) Zhorne. He was in the Tama High School class of 1960. 

Ronald was a kind-hearted man who loved to be around friends and family. He worked many years in various states as a cook and took an enormous amount of pride in his abilities. Ronald was a dog lover, loved classic cars, and was never shy to  start a conversation with a stranger. 

Preceding him  in death were his  parents  Leo and Eleanor  Zhorne;  one brother,  Richard “Dean” Zhorne.

Survivors include  2  nieces  and a nephew, Jodi (Raymond) Thomas of Burlington, KS,  Janee  (Ron) Eisele of  Grinnell, IA, and Ricky Dean (Brandi) Zhorne of  Hartsville, TN.
