Mary E. Pashby

Mary E. (Hlas) Pashby (58) passed away after a short illness on June 15, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals surrounded by those she loved most.

Mary was born on February 1, 1962 in Charleston, SC and moved to Tama, Iowa when she was 2 years old. Mary met and eventually married the love of her life Jim on April 12, 1996.

Mary managed Del Oil truck stop for several years and went on to work at several bars in town including The Office, The Silver Dollar and The Town Pump where she enjoyed meeting and serving others.

Mary was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed watching all the games. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband Jim, Chelsea, IA, son Doug, Cedar Rapids, IA, grandson James, and daughter in law, Amanda Pashby, Marion, IA. Mary is also survived by a sister Carol Hlas, Orlando, FL, a niece Erica and a nephew Danny Rios also in Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Charlene.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday June 20th at the VFW in Tama beginning at 2:00 p.m.
