Lloyd Kendall Riffle

Lloyd Kendall Riffle, 82, of Tama, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Per Lloyd’s request there will be no Visitation / Funeral/ Celebration of Life. Private family burial will be held at a later date.

Lloyd was born on October 23, 1937, in Maquoketa Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Ernestine (Kendall) Riffle.

He graduated from Tama High School in 1955.

On August 22, 1980, he married Donna Anderson. Lloyd was employed at Pioneer Hi-Bred in Toledo for forty-six years. He was a huge Hawkeye fan and was the President of the Tama County I-Club for many years. Lloyd was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He loved his outings to casinos with the Bundy’s.

Survivors include his wife Donna of Tama; sons, Randy (Sabre) Riffle of Tama, and Rick (Robin) Riffle of Tama; granddaughters, Tiffany Riffle and Chelsie (Brian) Flynn; great-grandsons, Brady and Baylor Flynn; also survived by three step-granddaughters; ten step-great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Riffle; birth mother, Ernestine Riffle; and step-mother, Leona (Hayek) Riffle.

A memorial fund will be established.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
