Lester Tobias Lasley

Lester Tobias Lasley, 43, of Tama, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home due to a sudden illness. A Traditional Wake will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Morgan Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Larry Lasley Sr. as speaker.

Lester was born on September 10, 1976, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Valerie Lasley and Keith Davenport.

He had several odd jobs over the years. Lester participated in many tribal ceremonies.

Survivors include his parents, Valerie Lasley and Keith Davenport of Tama; daughter, Alyssa Lasley of Tama; siblings, Danelle Wabaunasee, Dalyn Wabaunasee, Julius Sheridan, Diaz Sheridan, Demond Sheridan, Anneka Davenport, Desse Davenport, Dolan Davenport, and Ryson Davenport all of Tama; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Victor and Irma Lasley and his paternal grandparents, Curtis and Lois Davenport; brothers, Bryson and Wyatt Sheridan.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
