Duane Allan Doran

Duane Allan Doran, age 59, of Marshalltown and formerly of Tama, IA, was born on October 23rd, 1959, in Marshalltown, died September 7, 2019 at home surrounded by his family and in the care of Iowa River Hospice.

There will be a celebration of life held on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the The Pump in downtown Tama.

Duane was born to James L. Doran and Marlene (Schultz) Doran at the Marshalltown Hospital. Everyone that knew Duane, knew he lived his life the way he wanted to live, never in a “big hurry”. He had a big, giving heart and was always willing to help out anyone, especially his friends and family. Duane was never as happy as he was when he could start up his Harley on the first kick; hit the freedom of the open highway with the feeling of the wind in his hair.

Duane worked in maintenance most of his life but could honestly fix anything! In the end he was where he wanted to be at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by the mother of his two sons Lisa (Peters) Doran, his sons Nathan (Rachel) Doran and Derek Doran, his beautiful granddaughter Nya Lee Doran, his brother Douglas Doran, sister Jayme (Gary) Upah, sister Jannae Doran, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
