Alice Aswegan was born on October 3, 1942 in Grundy Center, Iowa to Floyd and Hilda Siefken Aswegan. She graduated from Union Whitten High School in 1960. Alice joined her life to Richard “Dick” Lyman on Nov. 12, 1960 in Union, Ia. They built their life and family in the Marshalltown/Tama areas which gifted them with four sons; Jeff, David, Rod and Trent. While being a mother was her happiness, Alice did work outside the home, her last job being with the Tama County Engineer from which she retired. She found joy in her flower garden where she would watch her bird feeder, in camping and fishing with her family and in singing praises to God at Hickory Grove Church. Her ultimate fulfillment came from being with her children (4), grandchildren (10) and great-grandchildren (16).

Alice is survived by her children: Jeff (Joni) Lyman of Pekin, Illinois, Dave (Stacey) Lyman of Grundy Center, Rod (Donna) Lyman of Dallas Center and Trent Lyman of Bryan, Texas; grandchildren: Jordon (Ryan) Hoover, Jenna (Shaun) Blake, Joelle (Matt) Henley, Megan (Brent) Hook, Nathan (Stasia) Lyman, Dylan Lyman, Noah Mortell, Brayden Lyman, Saxon Lyman and Ariane Lyman. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; sisters: Donna (Fred) Mitchem, Judy (Doug) Bagenstos and Jane (Ron) Puls and her mother in law, Margaret Lyman and caregivers Mike Mitchem and Darlene Peak.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Floyd and Hilda and father in law Evan Lyman
