Bonnie J. Crawford, 76, of Tama, passed away Monday, January 7, 2018 at Unity Point Health- Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Tama. Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Bonnie was born on December 26, 1942, in Quincy, IL, and was raised in Ewing, MO, the daughter of Clarence and Jennie (Jones) Whitaker.

In 1960, she graduated from Ewing High School in Missouri and later took CNA training.

On May 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to Raymond “Red” Crawford in Bethany, MO. Bonnie was previously employed at the Tama-Toledo Country Club, Elks Lodge in Marshalltown, Meskwaki Bingo and Casino, Marshalltown Hospital, Tama-Toledo Senior Center, and other places in the Tama-Toledo community. Bonnie served on the committee for the Tama Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. She also served as Justice of the Peace and was involved in the Democratic Party. Bonnie was a member of the Oak Hill Cemetery Association and the Garden Club. She enjoyed arts and crafts and liked playing cards at the Senior Center. Bonnie loved being a part of the Tama-Toledo community.

Survivors include five sons, Russ (Denise) Crawford of Toledo, Brad (Robin) Crawford of Tama, John (Sharon) Crawford of Toledo, Brian “Doug” (Stacey) Crawford of Conrad, and Dan (Kate) Crawford of Baton Rouge, LA; fourteen grandchildren, Amber, Shannon, Derek, Krista, Jason, Megan, Christopher, Nick, Laura, John “Michael”, Lizzie, Alex, Joseph, and Ezra; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Drake, Journey, Ella, Kelsey, Dylan, Quinn, and Charley; one great-great grandson, Brayden; two sisters, Jessie Hereford of Kahoka, MO, and Helen Ogborne of Alexandria, MO; and one brother, George Whitaker of Durham, MO.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond on October 29, 1988; siblings, Donald, Ralph, Norman, Larry, Linda, Dolly, Robert, Clarence, and one sibling in infancy; and a pet Dalmatian, Reo.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
