Paul C. Beck, 76, formerly of Tama, IA passed away Sun. Feb. 18, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Red Oak, IA.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Fri., Feb. 23, 2018 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA. Burial will take place at Rector Cemetery, Chelsea, IA.

Paul was born October 12, 1941 to Charles and Lucille (Staker) Beck in rural Belle Plaine. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1960. Following graduation, he farmed with his brother south of Belle Plaine. On May 29, 1971 Paul married Julie Mikesell. The couple started out south of Belle Plaine where he worked for Funk Seed. Later upon moving to Brooklyn where they raised their family, Paul worked as a farmhand, then for Hutchinson HW Brand farm equipment in Grinnell.

Paul spent time riding horses and enjoyed riding in parades. He also liked fishing, being outdoors and playing cards, he was known as the “King of Pepper.” He would cheer on the Hawkeye’s and adored watching his grandkids play sports. Most of all Paul loved spending time with family.

Paul was a member of Sunset Riders Saddle Club and Pony Express Riders of Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Beck of Red Oak; son, Danny (Tammy Gelvin) Beck of Waukee; son, Rory (Laurie) Kelly Sr. of Cedar Rapids; grandchild, Rory Jr.; son, Christopher (Becky) Beck of Beacon; grandchildren, Cinda, McKinzie and Katie; son, Dustin (Jenny) Beck of Swisher; grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler and Bruce; daughter, Kelly (Keith) Little of Red Oak; grandchildren, Rylie, Keegan, Katie, Kinley, Lance (CeeCee) and DJ; brothers, Larry (Sharon) Beck of Chelsea and David (Gloria) Beck of Des Moines; sister, Connie Jahlass of Deep River.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Gene Beck; brother-in-law, Edwin Jahlass.
