Edwin J. Iezek

Edwin J. Iezek, 98, of Brooklyn, IA passed away Thurs. Feb. 15, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Mon. Feb. 19, 2018 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelsea, IA with military honors. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com

Edwin was born Dec. 17, 1919 to James and Agnes (Behounek) Iezek on the family farm in rural Brooklyn. He attended country school near Holiday Lake. He served in the US Army during WWII as a Technical Sergeant. During this time, Edwin married Margaret Jennie Landuyt on Jan. 22, 1943 in Trenton, NJ. Following the service he returned home and farmed for 46 years until retirement at the age of 62.

Edwin was a member of Brooklyn American Legion #294 for 71 years and an Eagles member #2828 of over 45 years. He enjoyed Rolle Bolle, Dancing, and playing the accordion. Edwin loved spending time with family and his grandkids.

He is survived by his sons, Harold (JoAnn) of Montezuma, Carl (Teri) of Brooklyn, Larry (Nancy) of Chelsea and Daniel of Ohio; daughters, Mary (Tim Warden) Iezek of Blairstown, Linda (Jack) Tuttle of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many more loving family and friends.

Edwin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; grandchildren, Deanna McCarl, Michael Iezek; great-grandchild, Tyler Wolf; brothers, Henry and Fred Iezek.
