Lynn Karen Davenport

Lynn Karen Davenport, 79, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Morgan Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement with Larry Lasley Sr. as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Tuesday evening at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.

Lynn was born on February 18, 1938, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey and Ke-wa-nee (Whitebreast) Lasley.

She graduated from Tama High School and received a degree in Occupational Therapy from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo.

In 1968, she was united in marriage to Talbert Davenport Sr. They made their home on the Meskwaki Settlement. Lynn was a retired Occupational Therapist at Bethesda Care Center and bus driver for the Sac & Fox school.

Survivors include her daughters, Deneen Lasley of Grinnell, Dee Lasley of Toledo, Tamela Davenport (Kyle) of Tama, and Melanie Davenport (Chris) of Toledo; sons, Talbert Davenport Jr., Jason Davenport, Travis Davenport, Delbert Davenport, Luke Kapayou all of Tama, and Danny Wabaunasee of Toledo; thirty-two grandkids; and two sisters, Rae Jean Lasley and Wanda Lasley both of Tama.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Talbert on August 30, 2016; son, Danny Dean Lasley; grandson, Kyaus Davenport on August 11, 2016; brothers, Clifford, Victor, Vernon, and Jessup Lasley; and sisters, Geraldine Lasley, Beulah Lasley, Gweneth Stockton, Effy Lasley and Marie Davenport.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
