Nina Markowna (Shatilov) Timm

Nina Markowna (Shatilov) Timm, age 86, of Tama, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating.

Nina was born on August 7, 1930, in Stalino, Ukraine. She came to the U.S. from Russia in the 1950’s.

She was married to Eugene Frisbie and William Ward and they later divorced. She was then married to Arthur Timm in August of 1962. He passed away in February of 1997. Before and after her marriage to Art, for a short period of time she was a model at Willard’s in Marshalltown and also worked at King Tower in Tama. She enjoyed cooking and was a very meticulous house cleaner.

Survivors include one daughter, Eugenia Beidler of Weatherford, TX; two grandsons, Marc and Troy Freiberg; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Vladimir, Vitaly and John all of Australia; two nephews, Ron (Mary) Timm of Toledo, and Darold (Elvira) Timm of Mingo; and one niece, Sandra Chandonia of Toledo.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Art; and one nephew, Gerald Timm.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama is assisting the family with the arrangements.
