Louie Fred Walton, 76, of Tama, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. – noon at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Memorial Graveside Service following at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating.

Louie was born on April 16, 1939, in Montour, Iowa, the son of Frank and Barbara (Hurt) Walton.

He graduated from Toledo High School on May 23, 1958 and lived in the Tama-Toledo area for the vast majority of his life.

Louie served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. He was awarded the status of rifle marksman and carbine expert. He previously worked at Kiowa Corporation in Marshalltown, the Tama Livestock Auction, numerous farmers and many other establishments. Louie was a skilled carpenter, mason bricklayer and concrete worker. He loved his many pets over the years and his regular trips to the Maid-Rite where he dined with many friends. Louie will be missed by those that knew him the best.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Annette) Walton of Moscow Mills, MO, and Russell Walton of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Brad Walton of Columbia, MO and Joe Walton of Moscow Mills, MO; one brother, Arnold (Delores) Walton of Carrollton, TX; and one sister, Shirley (Larry) Bartling of Tama.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a long time companion, Judy Hartsell-Dean.

A memorial fund has been established.
