Alice Virginia (Marsh) McIntire

Alice Virginia (Marsh) McIntire, 81, of Tama, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Alice will be buried in a private service at a later date, with a celebration of life party to follow.

Alice Virginia Marsh McIntire was born on April 19, 1933, in, Bendon, Benzie County, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Etha (Clow) Marsh.

Alice grew up in Bendon, graduating from Honor Rural Agricultural School in 1951. She attended Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, where she met her future husband, and later, Columbia Community College, Columbia, California and Marshalltown Community College, Marshalltown, Iowa.

Alice married Thomas McIntire on August 28, 1955, who preceded her in death in 2007. She spent her life as a homemaker and bookkeeper, and was undeniably the most organized person her family has ever known.

Alice is survived by four children, twins, Sheryl (Mark) Rutledge of Tama and Brenda (Dan) Doyle of Toledo, Jim (Gladys) McIntire of Marshalltown and Doug (Maria) McIntire of Texas; six grandchildren, Andrea Rutledge, Brandon Rutledge (Megan Brittain), Gabe (Vicki) Doyle, Chad (Deb) Clark, Xavier Morales and Sarah Calderon; and seven great-grandchildren, Riley Rutledge, Peyton Rutledge, Alexa Clark, Paige Doyle, Rachel Doyle, Claire Doyle and Lila Rutledge.

A memorial fund has been established.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
