Jeanne Ann Downs, 64, of State Center, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the comfort of her own home, with her loving family by her side.

Memorial services for Jeanne will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, where her family will be present to greet friends. Jeanne Ann Downs was born on April 30, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon Earl and Marian (Hempy) Downs. She was raised and educated in the South Tama school district graduating from SouthTama High School in 1968. Following high school, Jeanne went on to graduate from AIB in Des Moines, Iowa. She was dedicated to her work, and spent 43 years at Fisher Control before retiring. Jeanne had a passion for cooking, gardening, baking, decorating, shopping, family but most importantly her Grandkids.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Chris (JoAnne) VerBeek, Mike (Judy) VerBeek and Cory VerBeek; grandchildren: Tyler, Chelsea, Zachary, Samantha, Jacub, Jonny, Anna and Leo; step-grandchildren: Madison, Ricky and Johnny; one great-granddaughter: Maya; her mother: Marian Downs; two brothers: Bill (Cyndy) Downs and Rick (Robin) Downs, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gordon Earl Downs.
