Ray O. Wilkinson, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer. Ray’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services. Overton Funeral Home, Traer, was in charge of arrangements.

Ray O. Wilkinson was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Chelsea, Iowa, to Ray and Hazel (Walker) Wilkinson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the service he lived in San Francisco working for Gulf Oil and later moved to Lobelville, Tenn., Mesquite, Texas, Naples, Fla. and finally to Toledo and Traer.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ruth Vesely Popelka and Gertrude Seidel.

He is survived by seven nieces and their families, Barbara Zeman of Chelsea, IA, Sharon Yuska of Toledo, Betty Bumgarner of Central City, Sandra Sheda, of Traer, Bonnie Deutsch of Vinton, Sue Hardon of Wichita Falls, TX, Bev Vore of Vining and many friends across the United States and elsewhere. Ray’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services.
