Snapping Right Through
This week's Tama City Council meeting
The Tama City Council meeting started by snapping through agenda items left and right. They started by hiring a new deputy city clerk, Abbigail Patrick, setting her wage at $20 an hour, and making her a signer on all city accounts, replacing former deputy clerk Sierra Berger.
EMS talked about being short staffed and it was approved to hold a work session to discuss solutions. A contract for the Safe Routes to School project was approved.
It was approved to apply for a sewer grant. The council discussed moving all future meetings to 5pm instead of 5:30.
The Public Works department said they are doing the same old thing, and mowing. EMS said that ambulance 240 has been taken out of commission as the back doors no longer shut all the way.
The police department reported details on the upcoming merger as well as the possible hiring of a couple of new officers.
