As the Toledo City Council was deliberating and finally approving the establishment of the Tama-Toledo Police Department, a few miles away in another board room, the Tama City Council was contemplating the same matter. A public hearing on the superseding and replacing of the code of ordinances for the merging of the police departments was held, and there were no public comments. The council approved the first reading of the ordinance and will have its second reading on Oct. 5.

The council approved a letter allowing the police department to start going under the Toledo department’s ORI system.

They also approved closing multiple streets for the Zombie Run.
