After the sun was poured out above the clouds and left to burn on the griddle, the usual group woke and made their way to this week’s Tama County Supervisors meeting. This week’s meeting started with the roads report, which stated they replaced a culvert and continued ditching, hauling rock, maintenance blading, and mowing.
The board once again approved the petition to put on the ballot the issue of going back to a three person board. An invoice for material testing for the E66 paving project was approved.
Bids for the E29 project were opened, and they approved going with Iowa Bridge and Culvert for approximately $26,000. A utility permit with Poweshiek Water Association, as well as another utility permit, were approved.
The Sept. 7 meeting was moved to the 8th due to Labor Day. Also, after an exempt session, the supervisors approved a motion for the chair and vice-chair to retain legal counsel for union negotiations.
Non-Departmental claims of $104.13 and regular claims of $213,458.63 were approved.
