This week’s Toledo City Council meeting started with some discussion with local citizen Rick Hopper on the zoning of housing lots. After some talk, the council referred the issue to the Board of Adjustment.

The council approved setting a public hearing to vacate the alley at 104 W. Ohio on Sept. 14.

Since Toledo Officer Andrew Bunce has completed one year of service since completing training, the council approved his one step wage increase of $1.50. Due to recent shortages in EMS staffing, the council approved advertising for a full-time employee.

The public works director reported that they’ve mainly been mowing. The City Attorney gave updates on nuisance problems.

Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported that between Aug. 10 and 23rd, the department responded to 128 calls and affected seven arrests, while having a single vehicle pursuit. Squad car problems were also reported.
