Medic One’s new engine
This week’s Tama City Council meeting
This week’s Tama Council meeting started with the approval of advertising for summer help. There will be three positions available. One for cemetery help, one to water the plants, and one as a floater to be used where they are needed.
The council then approved the moving around of money to pay for different projects. The start of LOSAP for the fire department was approved. A public hearing was set for the funds of the sewer generator project on Jan. 19.
The biggest discussion of the night was on the subject of repairing Medic One, the emergency response vehicle. Medic One went in for routine maintenance, and a damaged and stuck rod was found.
After much discourse on the subject, the council approved to pay approximately $10,500 from out of the trust to get and install a crate motor. The vote was three to two, with council members Eisentrager and Smith voting nay.
