The following email was received by multiple Toledo elected officials, STC school representatives, and the Tama-Toledo News Chronicle. The email from Maksim Kovalerchik was received in response to the News Chronicle’s story about the potential sale of the old middle school after an email associated with his name was discovered.

Good Morning Everyone

My name is Mike but yes call me Max Kovalerchik. I am the end user like the local paper calls it.

The story is BS ! You make Mr George seam like a bad guy who buys properties for free and re sells them to bad people who don’t do anything. That is so un true George is nice person who does his best to re sell them to people who actually try hard to make it work and build something.

Me personally I try to safe schools is my 5 school. My schools don’t fall apart or get vandalism or burned down . Yes they may sit for long time before something happens to them. But my schools stay clean and nice.

I let kids continue play and enjoy the courts the football will’s basketball courts outside .

In terms of Iova school in your Article you mentioned all let’s demolish the school how can you even say something like this you know the replacement cost of such wonderful building it’s $15 million to build something like that.

I have a John promise that it will be boarding school or Children home and I intend to keep the promise does not matter how long it takes. Children home is close to my heart project I have son who has been in 7 foster homes adopted and after 5 years send back to be re adopted for second chance by age 11 coming to me he has been with 10 families he wonderful kid I love him to death pictures attached. This is how bad the system is so possible making a kids home is good idea .

Mr John is not wiping his hands clean such crap he has best interests at heart for this school and has been working with since April of this year. How can you say something like this .

Mr John has been working with me to lease out the Gym area for kids while I look for boarding school or kids home and you call this good Article !!

Also attached in the email, as mentioned by Mr. Kovalerchik, are photographs of a child. Those photos have been omitted for privacy reasons, but none of the text has been edited.

The message was sent at 8:05 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Toledo Mayor Brian Sokol made the following statement to the Tama-Toledo News Chronicle about the email.

“In response to the email reply, As a city, we need more than a promise. Buy the bond, commit to providing proof of insurance listing the city and school as additional loss payees, show us your portfolio of past projects and most importantly make a trip to Toledo and visit with community leaders,” he wrote.
