City of Toledo employee cemetery markers discussed at council meeting
The Toledo City Council took action on only one agenda item at this week’s meeting. William Davis talked to the council about putting up metal place markers at the cemetery in remembrance of those that worked at the City of Toledo. After talking a bit about design, the council approved the markers.
The Public Works department reported that Christmas decor is in place uptown. The park is closed for the year. Almost 50 angels have been sold for the angels landing project. Permission was given for the fence at the border of the Reinig Farm to be taken down, but posts left up to show the property line. The UV is up and running.
EMS reported their call numbers and that the new computers are up and running.
The economic development department reported on Jolly Lights at the Heights, the bandstand dedication, and many other projects.
Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported responding to 111 calls for service between Oct. 27 and Nov. 9, and two arrests were made. Officer Andrew Bunce has completed his field training and is out on his own shift. SRO Vern Jefferson will be having his 3rd annual food drive at Fareway this Saturday.
