A goodwill motion

This week’s Toledo City Council meeting

This week’s Toledo City Council meeting started with a pitch by Enos Miller. Enos was granted a goodwill motion by the council for his idea to build a mobile home park on 1st Avenue. Enos’ has not yet purchased the property, but came to the council to see if the city would be willing to have the mobile home park.

The council approved carrying over 32 hours of vacation for Curt Graff and 23 hours of vacation for Richard Jimenez.

The council awarded Cooley Sanitation LLC a collector’s license. A public hearing was held directly before the council approved a resolution for a FY26 budget amendment.

The Public Works Department reported that the lead letters, notifications of lead water pipes, were sent out. The stop sign is up on Ross Street. The sidewalk on Main and High Street was worked on. They should be finishing up with the mowers for the year and putting them away.

The City Attorney reported having a court date for a nuisance abatement.

Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported that between Oct. 13 and 26, the department responded to 104 calls for service and made one arrest. Two search warrants were executed. The 2025 Tahoe has been picked up, but a few details have to be worked out before it goes into service.

The Toledo Economic Development Director spoke about a meeting with the school district regarding the sale of the old middle school and other projects she’s working on.
