Stuff the Bus continues supporting South Tama students

The Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of its annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive, giving local students a head start on the upcoming school year. Chamber business partners are serving as drop-off locations for community members who wish to donate new school supplies.

The drive runs through August 25, with Chamber members collecting donations from participating businesses and delivering them to South Tama County schools.

Chamber Coordinator Marlys Upah, spoke about the yearly event.

“The Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring our businesses and neighbors together for a cause that directly benefits our kids,” said Upah, organizer of the Stuff the Bus drive. “When the community steps up, it shows our students that they’re supported and valued — not just by their school, but by their community.”

Community members are encouraged to contribute essentials such as folders, notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, Kleenex, glue sticks, colored pencils, dry erase markers, pencil bags, highlighters, crayons, and backpacks.

Drop-off locations include: State Bank of Toledo, Thomas Company, Scharnweber Inc., State Farm Insurance, Medicap Pharmacy, WCF Financial Bank, Subway, Velocity Nutrition, Mercy Care Tama, Goodwill, Assured Partners, Toledo Public Library, Lincoln Savings Bank, Pinnacle Bank, and Tama Civic Center.
