109th Meskwaki Powwow in the books

The 109th annual Meskwaki Powwow was held from last Thursday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel. Due to the excess amount of rain the area has received and the flooding of the Iowa River, the powwow had to be relocated to the casino Outdoor Arena. Ellasyn White was crowned the 2025 Meskwaki Powwow Princess. Due to overnight rains on Saturday, the final day of the events moved inside, and high-profile visitors to the Powwow included State Auditor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Nathan Sage.
