After the excitement of their previous meeting and the resignation of one of their now former members, the STC Board of Education reconvened for their second monthly meeting on Monday night. With a slate of run of the mill agenda items, the meeting was dominated by presentations. First, Dan Lopez and the Gear Up team presented about future readiness at the high school. Next up was new Curriculum Director, Janelle Pirkl, updating the board on her work and settling into her new position.

In the action items, the board discussed and approved the middle school furniture proposal, which was included in the budget for the project, just needing to be approved for bidding purposes. Discussion of buying a new bus was tabled as the board wanted more information on the two options presented to them.

Moving right along, the board read through policy. Superintendent John Cain assured the board that the policy updates are almost through.

After updates from the superintendent and board members, the meeting moved into closed session before being adjourned. The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 11.
