Meet the Candidates for Supervisor District 5: Curt Kupka
Ahead of the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election, Tama-Grundy Publishing correspondent Michael Davis sent questionnaires to all the candidates running for the Tama County Board of Supervisors. This week we feature responses from Republican Curt Kupka of Chelsea and Democrat Bruce Lenhart of Tama who are running to represent District 5 – a large, mostly rural district covering the southern portion of the county including the townships of Indian Village, Highland, Columbia, Richland, Salt Creek, and most of York. Curt Kupka, 37, lives in rural Chelsea with his family of five. He works in excavation. His educational background includes a college degree.
1. What is something that you wish to change in your role as county supervisor?
The way they treat the community.
2. What is the largest issue facing Tama County today, in your opinion?
Wind and solar.
3. Why is 5 supervisors better than 3?

Better serve the community.
6. Why do you think the job of a supervisor is important?
Because they make the county what it is!
