Tama County 4-H kicks off Clover Kids program for K-3rd graders
TOLEDO – Tama County 4-H is excited to announce that enrollment opens Sept. 1 for the 2024-2025 Clover Kids program, designed specifically for youth in grades K-3rd. Clover Kids offers a fun and engaging introduction to 4-H, allowing young children to explore their interests and develop foundational skills in a supportive and creative environment.
“Clover Kids is all about sparking curiosity and encouraging discovery in our youngest members,” said Katie Lubbert, 4-H Youth Program Specialist with Iowa 4-H. “Through hands-on activities in areas like science, arts, and outdoor adventures, Clover Kids learn essential life skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving–all while having fun.”
The Clover Kids program provides age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and inspire a love of learning. Supported by caring adult volunteers, Clover Kids explore a wide range of topics, from nature and animals to art and technology, helping them develop a strong foundation for future success.
“Starting young in 4-H with the Clover Kids program sets the stage for a lifelong love of learning and community involvement,” added Jenny Hulme. “It’s a wonderful way for children to make new friends, try new things, and build the skills they’ll need as they grow.”
Tama County has four Clover Kid groups in the County – Gladbrook Clover Kids, Clutier Clover Kids, Clover Kids Buckingham (meets in Traer) and Tama Toledo Clover Kids. There is no enrollment fee for the Clover Kid groups (some may ask for a small supply fee). Toledo Wide Awakes and Garwin Roughriders 4-H clubs do invite Clover Kids to join their 4-12th grade club.
