Last week’s Supervisors’ meeting changed it up by gathering on a Tuesday morning instead of a Monday due to Memorial Day. The Tuesday meeting had a light agenda and an aura of an easy morning to it.
As usual, Tama County Engineer Ben Daleske started off the meeting with his report, saying that they were soon going to the 4/10 hour day schedule. He also spoke of assessing the damages caused by the recent flooding, shoulders were washed out, two bridges need work, and rock needs to be replenished in several areas.
The contractor for the 220th project didn’t do much yet due to the water, but Daleske said that they will start “de-watering” the area and finishing it up. Good bids have been received for new projects. A new cleaning person has been hired.
